I’m Back!

This blog has been on hiatus for quite some time, while I worked my way through several family issues (heart surgery for one family member — successful!, a film premier for another family member — also successful!, two deaths in the extended family with the resulting estate issues, and so on).

But the latest family crisis — this one mine — has given me plenty of time to read, think, and write as I recuperate from breaking my hip and falling. (Yes, you read that right: I heard a crack, and then fell. The bone was broken before I fell.)

This is just a general note to say that I hope to be back to at least once-a-week postings, and to maintain that schedule for at least the next six months. Traffic on the site has stayed steady during the hiatus, as older posts continue to get traffic from Google and other search engines, but I hope to add enough new and interesting content to bring traffic to new levels this summer.

Thanks for your patience!

Oh, yes, and our family has grown since my last post, too.  Meet Sadie, a mixed-breed girl who came from the Dallas City Shelter (a high-kill pound). They said she was 3 years old — but she’s still a puppy, probably about six months old when she arrived. That means that her high-energy personality is keeping us on our toes, and while she wants to please everyone, she’s like an ADHD kid, constantly getting into trouble. She’s very smart, too — opens drawers, for instance. <sigh> But she’s softer than any stuffed animal ever, and she loves to cuddle.  I call her Sadie Soft, because she is just so cuddly.

About debmcalister

I'm a Dallas-based marketing consultant and writer, who specializes in helping start-up technology companies grow. I write (books, articles, and blogs) about marketing, technology, and social media. This blog is about all of those -- and the funny ways in which they interesect with everyday life. It's also the place where I publish general articles on topics that interest me -- including commentary about the acting and film communities, since I have both a son and grandson who are performers.
